Senior Financial Planning Associate, ScotiaMcLeod

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive financial planning support to wealth management advisors by preparing and presenting personalized financial plans.
• Proactively engage with clients to understand their financial goals and implement recommended strategies.
• Utilize financial planning software to input client data and model complex scenarios or alternative solutions.
• Collaborate with internal specialists in taxation, insurance, estate planning, and philanthropy to provide an integrated wealth management approach.
• Monitor legislative and industry changes to ensure all financial plans remain accurate and compliant with FP Canada standards.
• Support the advisor team by identifying trends and strategic recommendations to enhance client relationships.

Requirements

• CFP (Certified Financial Planner) or IQPF certification.
• College or university degree.
• Proven experience in wealth management and holistic financial planning.
• Proficiency in financial planning software and Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel).
• Strong communication skills in both French and English.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience conducting exploratory client meetings to identify complex financial needs.
• Ability to model sophisticated strategies to address changing regulations and client circumstances.
