Senior Financial Natural Gas Trader

Responsibilities

• Run a point of view driven natural gas book across NYMEX and North America basis markets
• Translate proprietary physical flow, production, and infrastructure intelligence into financial trading expressions
• Develop and maintain quantitative tools and fundamental models in collaboration with Quant and Market Fundamentals teams
• Execute physical natural gas trades across prompt and near-term markets in the Western U.S.
• Manage risk actively across volatility, term structure, and basis exposures with systematic sizing and tail-risk protection
• Collaborate with physical traders, schedulers, and risk teams to ensure the financial book reflects the full information set

Requirements

• 10+ years of financial natural gas trading experience at a bank, merchant, hedge fund, or producer with direct P&L ownership
• Deep fundamental grounding in North America natural gas, including production, storage, weather, and pipeline flows
• Experience working with dedicated Quant teams using Python-based tools for fundamentals, pricing, and risk
• Proven track record of consistent risk-adjusted returns across different market regimes
• Strong understanding of Western U.S. gas markets, infrastructure, and basin dynamics
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced quantitative degrees preferred
