Senior Financial Analyst

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor departmental budgets ranging from $5 million to $15 million.
• Perform regular variance analysis, forecasting, and cost/benefit analysis for current and future financial activities.
• Provide managerial and financial analysis to support the operations of assigned departments.
• Manage General Ledger (GL) activities, including preparation of entries, research of transactions, and monthly/year-end close processes.
• Serve as a departmental representative for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Travel & Entertainment, and contracts/grants.
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports, budget narratives, and Return on Investment (ROI) analyses.
• Act as a liaison between UCLA Extension and various campus departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training.
• Proven experience in fiscal budget planning, preparation, and analysis.
• Strong mathematical proficiency for calculating ratios, rates, and percentages.
• Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), particularly in a non-profit environment.
• Experience with financial modeling and performance metric evaluation.
• Proficiency in General Ledger management, including account reconciliation and financial statement preparation.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other financial software/databases.
• Excellent written communication skills for preparing budget narratives and reports.
