About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide post-award administration and financial support for assigned clinical trials, grants, and contracts.
  • Monitor incoming revenue, manage cash receipts, and coordinate with internal and external entities to ensure timely payment posting.
  • Perform quantitative and financial analysis using Oracle and complex spreadsheets to provide project insights.
  • Conduct monthly variance analysis, budget and forecast projections, and prepare comprehensive P&L statements.
  • Ensure accurate posting of journal entries to sub-ledgers and general ledgers across all funding sources.
  • Collaborate with Research Financial Services (RFS) to reconcile billings for sponsored programs.
  • Review and approve Marketplace requisitions and reconcile Purchase Orders for clinical research services.
  • Monitor project account balances to manage grant and contract awards and prevent deficits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of related experience in a basic research environment within a healthcare or academic organization.
  • Strong financial experience managing industry-sponsored and non-industry sponsored clinical trials.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, and chart development).
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting concepts, including journal entries and financial statement reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a non-profit or higher education medical center.
  • Proficiency with OnCore® CTMS.
  • Knowledge of CPT coding and EPIC research billing.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and interpersonal communication skills.
