About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive counseling to prospective and enrolled students regarding federal and state financial aid programs, including Pell Grants, FSEOG, TEACH Grants, and Direct Loans.
  • Interpret and communicate financial aid policies, eligibility requirements, and procedures to students and families.
  • Manage financial aid operations, including resolving over-award situations and serving as a secondary private student loan certification official.
  • Assist with the training, development, and mentorship of financial aid counseling staff.
  • Evaluate and process requests for special circumstances and petitions for independent status.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for scheduling high school outreach and Bengal Bound events.
  • Conduct individualized outreach to at-risk populations to aid in student retention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • One year of experience working in a financial aid capacity.
  • Eligibility to obtain National Student Loan Database System access.
  • Must not be in default on student loans.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in financial aid or equivalent student services within a higher education setting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial aid best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team orientation, and superior interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven analytical skills and a commitment to data-driven decision-making.
