About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist in external client consulting engagements to advance the CFO agenda for the Financial Services Office.
- Support finance transformation initiatives, focusing on technology integration to modernize finance functions.
- Assess current financial processes and systems to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
- Follow project plans, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful implementation of transformation projects.
- Contribute to business development activities, including proposal development and responding to RFXs.
- Stay abreast of current business, industry, and regulatory trends relevant to the financial services sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal EY service lines.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of related work experience in the banking and capital markets industry.
- Knowledge of key accounting standards relevant to financial institutions, including IFRS 9, IAS 39, and IAS 32.
- Understanding of prudential regulatory rules applicable to financial institutions in Canada.
- Experience with finance transformation, process improvement methodologies, or change management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to lead and work collaboratively in a team environment, including mentoring junior staff.
- Willingness to travel on short notice to meet client needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven track record with a blue-chip consulting firm.
- Experience leading finance transformation programs through the full lifecycle of assessment, design, and implementation.
- Working knowledge of capital infrastructure, including data, systems, models, and management reporting.
