Senior Financial Accountant

Responsibilities

• Own month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with AASB
• Prepare and technically review statutory financial statements and disclosures
• Research and implement new accounting standards, including preparing technical position papers
• Lead the external audit process and resolve technical queries and findings
• Lead and support budgeting processes
• Prepare monthly statutory accounts, cash flow statements, and board/Audit & Risk Committee papers
• Maintain and oversee the general ledger, reconciliations, and internal controls
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members

Requirements

• CA/CPA qualification (essential)
• 5+ years of experience in financial accounting and reporting roles
• Strong technical knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB)
• Proven experience in statutory reporting and audit management
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and scenario analysis
• High attention to detail and strong professional judgement
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
