Senior Field Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced construction, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of utility electrical systems
• Install and support utility equipment including transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers
• Lead utility construction activities such as conduit installation and cable pulling
• Troubleshoot circuitry and diagnose malfunctioning systems using technical expertise and root cause analysis
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and single-line diagrams (SLDs)
• Provide mentorship and guidance to apprentices and junior field personnel
• Coordinate work activities, material planning, and job readiness for field crews
• Travel extensively to customer and project sites, including remote assignments

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in utility construction, maintenance, or field service for electrical systems
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
• Ability to travel extensively to remote and out-of-town locations
• Technical aptitude and ability to work in physically demanding environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in electrical, power systems, or engineering technology
• Experience with substations, transformers, and electrical distribution systems
• Experience mentoring or guiding field personnel
• Knowledge of electrical safety requirements and utility standards
