About the role

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
  • Perform regular site inspections to identify defects or hazards and take prompt corrective action.
  • Manage relationships with local contractors and supervise on-site activities via the permit-to-work system.
  • Coordinate statutory inspections of building plant and equipment (HVAC, fire systems, electrical) in compliance with DGUV and BetrSichV.
  • Act as a local point of contact for Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) matters, supporting the Sr. Facilities, EHS Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, contractor visits, and statutory inspections.
  • Monitor utility consumption and manage the storage of facilities consumables and spare parts.

Requirements

  • Completed vocational training (Berufsausbildung) in a relevant trade such as electrical engineering, HVAC, or mechatronics.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or building services, ideally in a commercial or industrial environment.
  • Practical experience conducting risk assessments and workplace inspections in compliance with German H&S law.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of German workplace safety regulations and DGUV standards.
  • Experience managing on-site contractors and issuing permits to work.
  • Valid German driving licence (Klasse B).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluent German (written and spoken) and working proficiency in English.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose faults.
  • Valid first aid certificate (Ersthelfer).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital maintenance/EHS reporting systems.
