About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform close-related ledger tasks including accruals, provisions, reconciliations, and journal postings
- Prepare ledger reports and other required documentation for Group and regulatory bodies
- Conduct accounts receivable and accounts payable activities and perform basic technical research
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with accounting and finance procedures
- Support business decision-making through detailed financial analysis and data insights
- Act as a subject matter expert for internal projects and initiatives
- Monitor and implement automated processes using suitable technologies
- Perform and update ICFR controls in compliance with internal control guidelines
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 2+ years of working experience in accounting or finance within the financial services industry
- Experience in the insurance or takaful industry is preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
