About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of 75 to 150 major prospects, conducting discovery, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Develop and execute long-term major gift strategies in close partnership with the Dean of the College of Engineering.
- Act as a unit liaison to coordinate development activities, leadership meetings, and central advancement efforts.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with administrators, faculty, staff, alumni, and industry partners.
- Prepare fundraising outreach and communications to ensure robust donor engagement and awareness of College needs.
- Secure significant philanthropic gifts, with a primary emphasis on gifts of $25,000 or more.
Requirements
- 10 years of full-time fundraising experience in higher education, a complex healthcare system, or a large non-profit.
- Proven track record of success in cultivating, soliciting, and closing major-level gifts ($100,000+).
- Proficiency with Salesforce or comparable donor relationship management applications.
- Experience managing numerous priorities and a broad portfolio of donor/client relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree.
- Experience at an academic or medical center.
- Experience managing volunteers or an advisory board.
- Comfort working with high-net-worth individuals and maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Basic knowledge of planned giving vehicles and techniques.
- Experience developing new donor constituencies.
