Senior Estimator

Responsibilities

• Review and understand project specifications and drawings
• Produce accurate take-offs and pricing for Heavy Highway / Heavy Civil components
• Complete cost estimates for projects ranging from $10M to $100M
• Solicit quotations from subcontractors and vendors
• Analyze self-perform activities versus subcontracted work
• Prepare and assist in creating construction schedules and equipment utilization schedules
• Update databases with labor rates, vendor values, and equipment rates
• Mentor junior estimators and manage small groups of assisting estimators
• Identify project risks and opportunities
• Coordinate quantity and cost comparisons with Joint Venture Partners

Requirements

• 4-year Engineering Degree or equivalent
• Previous estimating experience
• Technical training or related industry experience
• Advanced math and computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience in Heavy Highway / Heavy Civil projects
• Design-Build or P3 experience
• Proficiency with HCSS Heavy Bid, Bluebeam, Smart Bid, CADD, Viewpoint Vista, and P6
• Experience supervising others
