Senior Estimator

Responsibilities

• Develop complete, complex cost estimates for very large infrastructure and design-build projects
• Collaborate with teams to determine the most efficient means and methods for construction
• Create logistic plans for material handling and prepare special studies for unusual bid items
• Train and mentor junior estimators in estimate preparation and company procedures
• Review estimates from other groups to ensure data completeness and resolve bid item discrepancies
• Stay current on industry trends, including new equipment, methods, and specialized technical procedures
• Handle major technical problems encountered during the estimation process

Requirements

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or construction-related technology (or equivalent extensive work experience)
• At least 15 years of experience in an estimating or pre-construction related role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, costs, techniques, and engineering drawings
• Knowledge of construction safety and current federal/OSHA requirements
• Strong mathematical, computer, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
• Willingness to travel as required by the job

• Experience with InEight Estimate (HardDollar)
