Senior Estimator

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full lifecycle of project estimating from preliminary concepts through completed bid packages
• Prepare detailed conceptual budgets from pre-construction and design development documents
• Perform detailed take-offs of all trades
• Manage the entire bid process including preparation of detailed bid packages and leveling subcontractor bids
• Negotiate and purchase all subcontractors and issue purchase orders
• Maintain vendor relationships and collaborate with engineers, architects, and clients
• Interpret drawings and specifications to quantify scope and develop cost projections
• Identify potential risks and propose cost-efficient solutions
• Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions
• Guide and support junior estimators

Requirements

• Four-year degree
• 7-10 years minimum experience in budgeting/estimating
• Proficiency in reading commercial construction plans and specifications
• Knowledge of New York City subcontractor base
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work under pressure to meet bid deadlines

• Proficiency in Procore
• Proficiency in Timberline
• Proficiency in On-Screen Takeoff
