Senior Estimator

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and pricing models for diverse Design-Build projects
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project budgets integrated with design and 3D printing operations
• Partner with Design, Build Operations, and Material Supply Chain teams to ensure cost-efficiency and constructability
• Contribute to the pre-construction phase focusing on budget, value engineering, and early trade partner engagement
• Collaborate with Material Science and Technology teams to identify innovative materials and design optimizations
• Support Business Development with conceptual and schematic-level estimates for project pursuits
• Lead bid solicitations, evaluate subcontractor proposals, and perform bid-leveling
• Conduct market research and maintain updated cost databases and benchmark models
• Review design documents and specifications for accuracy and coordination
• Prepare and present detailed estimate summaries and variance reports to leadership
• Serve as a technical resource to junior estimators

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in construction estimating, management, or pre-construction roles
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
• Proven track record in general contracting or design-build organizations
• Deep understanding of residential and light commercial construction
• Expertise in cost modeling, value engineering, and risk management
• Proficiency with construction estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or Procore
• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in design-build delivery models
• Background in innovative construction technologies like modular construction
• Familiarity with military construction (MILCON) requirements
• Experience integrating estimates with BIM tools like Revit or Navisworks
• Professional certifications such as CPE or PMP
