Senior Environmental Test Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create environmental test plans, procedures, and reports to satisfy internal and external requirements
• Participate in environmental tests both onsite and offsite, including travel to test houses
• Perform failure analysis and generate recovery plans for test failures
• Maintain and operate environmental test equipment such as vibration tables and thermal chambers
• Design and support the operation of new environmental test instrumentation systems
• Apply knowledge of environmental standards such as DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-461

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Avionics, or a related discipline
• 2-10 years of relevant experience (depending on seniority level) in aerospace or launch vehicle integration
• Fundamental knowledge of environmental component-level testing
• Experience designing test instrumentation systems and reviewing electrical/mechanical schematics
• Proficiency in LabVIEW, Python, or MATLAB
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NI cRIO or cDAQ platforms for data collection and test automation
• Experience testing RF components such as transmitters, GPS systems, and antennas
• Knowledge of EMC testing per MIL-STD-461
• Experience with data acquisition software like Curtiss-Wright KAM-500
• Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks) or electrical wiring software (Capital, Zuken)
