Senior Environmental Planner

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex environmental assessments and planning studies for infrastructure projects
• Support the growth of the Infrastructure practice in Ontario by executing environmental business plans
• Manage, coach, and mentor junior staff and natural science practitioners
• Lead proposal preparation, including developing methodologies, work programs, schedules, and budgets
• Prepare technical reports and conduct quality reviews of documentation prepared by others
• Execute stakeholder engagement strategies and analyze public consultation results
• Maintain technical competency by staying current with industry trends and advancements

Requirements

• University degree in Planning, Environmental Science, Geography, or a related professional discipline
• Minimum of 10 years of related work experience, including infrastructure consulting and design
• Extensive knowledge of MTO Class EA, TRPAP, and Municipal Class EA processes
• Strong understanding of the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act and the Impact Assessment Act of Canada
• Proven experience in project management and business development
• Excellent English written and oral communication skills; French language skills are an asset
• Membership in the Ontario Professional Planners Institute or Canadian Institute of Planners is an asset
