Senior Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Own the design, build, and maintenance of both off-the-shelf and custom Lab Execution platforms
• Build and scale cloud-based microservices and front-end applications
• Lead and coach a small, agile engineering team using Kanban or Scrum
• Act as a bridge between engineering and lab users to turn feedback into improvements
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and ensure technical excellence through automated testing
• Architect scalable, cost-smart cloud infrastructure

Requirements

• 10+ years of software application development experience
• Proven track record of leading and growing high-performing engineering teams
• Expertise in Python, TypeScript, and React
• Proficiency with AWS services (Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, Glue) and Infrastructure as Code
• Strong relational database skills with MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Experience with messaging frameworks like Kafka
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building custom LIMS/LES systems
• Hands-on experience with LabVantage
• Based in Austin, TX for close collaboration with lab operations
