Senior Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the Diagnose & Prescribe (D&P) engineering team to build AI-native services for skill assessment and learning path prescription.
• Own delivery, technical direction, and team health across the full learner and customer journey.
• Manage high-impact services including AI-heavy RAG pipelines, eligibility logic, and recommendation engines.
• Coach and grow engineers, fostering a high-performing, AI-native operating rhythm.
• Stay hands-on by whiteboarding distributed designs, reviewing event schemas, and writing production code when necessary.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Go-To-Market teams to align technical direction with customer behavior.

Requirements

• Experience in engineering management of full-stack teams shipping production software.
• Proven track record of leading teams that have shipped AI features to real users in production.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript (including React/Next.js).
• Experience with PostgreSQL at scale and managing large, live schemas.
• Experience building event-driven systems using message buses like RabbitMQ.
• Deep understanding of AI-native development workflows and tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code).
• High engineering maturity regarding testing, CI/CD, observability, and architecture decision records (ADRs).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing the intersection of onboarding, eligibility, and customer acquisition funnels.
• Experience using the Strangler pattern to migrate logic from legacy monoliths to microservices.
• Strong focus on accessibility and UX for learner-facing surfaces.
