Senior Engineering Manager, MLOps

Responsibilities

• Architect a long-term MLOps roadmap to transition workflows to a fully automated, self-service platform
• Build and maintain end-to-end infrastructure for model training, deployment, and serving
• Partner with business leaders to align infrastructure investments with e-commerce drivers
• Lead "build vs. buy" evaluations for cloud-native services versus custom internal tools
• Oversee the uptime, performance, and scalability of production ML services
• Manage compute governance and optimize high-cost resources like GPU clusters
• Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of ML Infra and DevOps engineers
• Establish MLOps standards including CI/CD for ML and Infrastructure as Code
• Bridge the gap between AI Research and Engineering by translating research needs into actionable requirements
• Define and track velocity metrics such as deployment frequency and MTTR
• Champion operational excellence through root-cause analyses and systemic fixes
• Monitor emerging trends in LLM-ops and vector databases to future-proof infrastructure

Requirements

• 10+ years of industry experience
• 3-5 years in a leadership or management role focused on ML Infrastructure, MLOps, or Data Platforms
• Proven track record of scaling MLOps platforms supporting the full model lifecycle
• Deep expertise in AWS and orchestration tools like Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, and Terraform/Pulumi
• Hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Kubeflow, or SageMaker
• Expertise in building Feature Stores and high-throughput data pipelines (Spark, Flink, or Kafka)
• Experience partnering with AI Research and Data Science teams
• Strong understanding of CI/CD for ML and deployment strategies like blue-green or canary
• Experience managing high-cost compute resources and optimizing GPU utilization
• Excellence in operational leadership and driving service stability
• Product-oriented mindset with ability to prioritize based on business ROI
• Exceptional communication and influence skills
