Senior Engineering Manager

About the Company

Magical is building an AI-native automation platform for enterprise healthcare. We are creating an agentic workforce of AI agents that can execute real work across fragmented systems, providing the reliability, security, and observability required by the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead the performance, development, and effectiveness of a team of up to 12 engineers
• Drive technical execution across critical parts of Magical’s AI platform
• Oversee engineering quality, delivery speed, architecture reviews, and incident response
• Build systems to make probabilistic AI reliable for enterprise healthcare workflows
• Translate ambiguous product and customer problems into executable technical plans
• Improve platform scalability to make customer deployments faster and more repeatable
• Hire, onboard, coach, and retain exceptional engineering talent
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, Deployment, Security, and GTM teams

Requirements

• Experience leading high-performing engineering teams through fast-growing, ambiguous stages
• Strong technical judgment in production software systems, architecture, and reliability
• Meaningful experience with LLMs, agents, evals, orchestration, or production AI systems
• Proven track record of developing engineers and raising the talent bar
• Strong product judgment and ability to balance speed, quality, and scalability
• Familiarity with enterprise security and healthcare requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, PHI)
• Ability to operate with founder-level urgency and high standards
