Senior Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage delivery across multiple engineering teams, defining standards for consistency, quality, and velocity
• Report to C-level stakeholders on progress, risks, and business impact
• Own domain-level SDLC governance and define OKRs, KPIs, and SLAs
• Define architecture and technical standards in collaboration with Staff Software Engineers
• Drive platform and infrastructure strategy and reduce technical debt
• Define the domain's AI adoption strategy and measure ROI
• Coach and develop Engineering Managers and build a talent pipeline
• Build a high-performance, inclusive engineering culture
• Shape recruitment, process standards, and organizational structure
• Manage cross-domain dependencies and build relationships with business stakeholders

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Software Development or Engineering Leadership
• Proven experience managing managers (manager-of-managers model)
• Hands-on background as a software engineer
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
• Experience with backend databases
• Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud preferred, AWS or Azure valued)
• Strong knowledge of microservices, event-driven, and API-first architecture patterns
• Experience with OKR/KPI frameworks
• Proficiency in Agile or SAFe frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in e-commerce or logistics
• Experience at a product-based company
• Experience with P&L ownership and budget management
• Knowledge of AI/ML platforms and emerging technology trends
• Experience in board or executive advisory roles
