About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the AI Teammates Platform team of ~8 senior engineers
- Own the technical vision for the execution engine, including model integration and proactive agent behavior
- Drive the team’s model upgrade pipeline by evaluating new LLMs
- Build and maintain the platform that enables other Asana engineering teams to build AI-powered features
- Partner with Product, Design, and Data Science to define roadmap priorities
- Collaborate with peer teams on shared infrastructure and APIs
- Drive team delivery pace and improve engineering velocity
- Attract, retain, and develop exceptional senior engineering talent
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering
- 4+ years of experience managing technical teams
- Applied AI experience with at least one year building products on top of LLMs
- Strong technical foundation for guiding architectural decisions in AI product spaces
- Experience building and scaling platform teams
- Ability to thrive in "zero-to-one" product environments
- Effective cross-functional collaboration skills
