Senior Engineer, Wind Turbine Generators

Responsibilities

• Provide technical WTG expertise across the Masdar portfolio of development, construction, and operational offshore wind assets.
• Conduct WTG Technical Due Diligence on new turbine types and document findings and recommendations.
• Develop and manage Employer’s Technical Requirements, ensuring supplier deviations are closed out and risks are registered.
• Support the procurement phase by evaluating WTG supplier offers, identifying scope gaps, and reviewing technical documents for contract inclusion.
• Provide technical guidance on main component failure rates, replacement strategies, and root cause analysis.
• Manage technical aspects of the Turbine Supply Agreement (TSA), including Technical Queries (TQs) and design risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with technical specifications and provide leadership in Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE).

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in offshore wind projects.
• Demonstrable expertise in WTG technical aspects, including failure rates and main component replacements.
• Proven experience managing contractors, interfaces, and technical works.
• Knowledge of Information Management systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in London with frequent travel to supplier offices and manufacturing sites.
• Must be UK-based with the right to work in the UK.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with digitalization and data analytics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant QHSE software.
• Ability to facilitate knowledge transfer to field management.
