Senior Engineer, SSD Validation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define test plans, design test cases, and develop test scripts to validate firmware for Enterprise and Datacenter class NVMe SSD products
• Utilize whitebox and greybox test methods to identify defects and validate fixes across Front End, Back End, FTL, or Security modules
• Debug NVMe protocol issues using Lecroy/JDSU analyzers
• Integrate tests into automated environments and collaborate with execution teams to drive validation strategies
• Partner with firmware development teams throughout the product lifecycle to drive issues to closure
• Review, track, and document test results and sightings

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in SSD Firmware Validation
• Strong proficiency in Python coding and Linux operating system debugging
• Deep understanding of NVMe/PCIe specifications and system storage relationships (CPU, Memory, PCIe, drivers, OS)
• Experience with whitebox and greybox testing methodologies
• Ability and willingness to travel internationally 2-3 times a year for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with storage interfaces such as UFS or eMMC
• Strong knowledge of C/C++
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment including Protocol Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and Logic Analyzers
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
