Senior Engineer - Process & Packaging Systems

Responsibilities

• Lead process optimization, troubleshooting, and system improvement initiatives across manufacturing, pilot plant, and capital project environments.
• Design and implement major system modifications, experiments, and capital projects using advanced engineering principles.
• Develop engineering policies and procedures that impact multiple organizational units.
• Supervise and review the work of engineers, associates, and technicians on a project basis.
• Collaborate with Research, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Validation teams to define requirements for complex facility modifications.
• Partner with Project Managers to deliver engineering designs within scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
• Coordinate with external consultants, architects, and engineering firms to develop standard design documentation.

Requirements

• Doctorate OR Master’s degree with 2 years of engineering experience OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 4 years of engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of pharmaceutical and biotech processes.
• Familiarity with validation processes and documentation in highly regulated environments.
• Expertise in at least three engineering technology areas.
• Proficiency with engineering design tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, or SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of industry standards including ASTM D4169, ISO, TAPPI, USP, or EP.
• Strong understanding of GMP and GDP.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Background in Packaging or Materials Science.
• Full bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Deep knowledge of primary and secondary packaging systems and healthcare packaging material science.
• Experience writing test protocols and executing technical evaluations for material qualification.
