About the role
Responsibilities
- Support consumable product development, manufacturing process development, and product improvements for sequencing consumables.
- Represent operations needs on development teams to ensure effective transfer of products and processes into manufacturing.
- Work cross-functionally with Product Development, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to enable high-volume manufacturing.
- Apply Critical Parameter Management (CPM) principles and Design of Experiments (DOEs) to optimize processes and troubleshoot yield/quality issues.
- Define technical requirements, author process documents, and facilitate the transfer of manufacturing and QC processes in a regulated environment.
- Utilize 6-sigma, DFSS, and 8D methodologies to troubleshoot product and process issues.
- Lead supplier change notifications (SCNs), complaint investigations, and risk management activities.
- Manage vendors at a technical level and conduct domestic or international travel (up to 10%) to oversee technology transfers and audits.
Requirements
- Industrial or academic experience with semiconductor, CMOS, or MEMS processes (e.g., wet/dry etch, photolithography, or deposition).
- High-level problem-solving and reasoning skills.
- Strong interdepartmental communication and documentation skills.
- Ph.D. in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Material Science Engineering with 1-3+ years of relevant experience, OR a B.S./M.S. in a related engineering discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-volume manufacturing transfer within the semiconductor industry.
- Industrial experience with microelectronic assembly processes such as wire bonding, die attach, or pick and place.
- Experience with Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) management and supplier qualifications.
