Senior Engineer – Observability Engineering

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end observability solutions covering metrics, logs, traces, synthetic monitoring, and RUM using New Relic.
• Implement observability standards for microservices, APIs, and front-end systems across hybrid-cloud environments.
• Leverage AI-driven observability and AIOps to enable intelligent anomaly detection, predictive alerting, and automated root cause analysis.
• Integrate observability into CI/CD and GitOps workflows to enable automated feedback loops throughout the software delivery pipeline.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with platform and application teams to establish scalable monitoring architectures.
• Mentor engineering teams on observability best practices and foster a data-driven, performance-oriented culture.
• Evaluate and implement next-generation observability tools aligned with enterprise architecture and security goals.

Requirements

• 7+ years of IT industry experience with a strong focus on Observability and monitoring solutions.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience administrating and integrating New Relic solutions in GCP, Azure, or AWS.
• Experience managing observability solutions such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Grafana, or Prometheus.
• Deep understanding of the four pillars of observability: Metrics, Events, Logs, and Traces.
• Strong background in distributed systems, microservices, and containerized applications (Kubernetes, EKS, Docker).
• Knowledge of automation, CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science.
• New Relic Certifications (Reliability Engineer, Verified Foundation, or Performance Engineer).
• Experience with service mesh architectures and ITIL frameworks.
