Senior Engineer MSSQL DBA

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer MSSQL databases, including responding to incidents and change requests.
• Modernize enterprise database environments by developing automation, tools, and operational strategies for MSSQL and cloud-native technologies.
• Implement and optimize high availability, clustering, Always On, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Provide daily operational support, monitoring MSSQL activities, and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Maintain compliance, data protection, and audit requirements to ensure effective control and disaster recovery readiness.
• Participate in Agile Scrum teams and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to contribute to the future database vision.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of professional IT experience.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience supporting MSSQL database technologies on Windows OS, including stand-alone and HADR configurations.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience with database migrations to cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Proven experience in scripting using T-SQL.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on technical projects in Agile environments with strong documentation skills.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server upgrades and migrations in large-scale environments.
• Strong expertise in PowerShell or shell scripting for the automation of DBA tasks.
• Proficiency with performance tuning, monitoring tools, SSIS/SSRS, and encryption tools.
• Knowledge of open-source databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, or cloud solutions on Azure.
