About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical expert for HGA manufacturing equipment and processes to ensure maximum uptime and throughput
  • Design and implement hardware enhancements and process control strategies to improve yield and precision
  • Lead development of Preventative and Predictive Maintenance programs to minimize unscheduled downtime
  • Collaborate with automation teams on HMI refinement, sensor integration, and real-time monitoring
  • Perform deep-dive root cause analysis for equipment malfunctions using 8D, DMAIC, or Fishbone methodologies
  • Analyze physical defect data to identify relationships between equipment parameters and product quality
  • Lead cross-functional equipment upgrade projects from conception through IQ/OQ/PQ qualification
  • Execute data-driven improvements to reduce scrap and optimize cycle times

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing process engineering, equipment maintenance, or automation
  • Strong knowledge of Control Systems and PLC logic (Beckhoff, Siemens, or Allen Bradley)
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, or MATLAB/Simulink
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and failure analysis (DOE, FMEA, or Six Sigma)
  • Hands-on experience with Industrial IoT (IIoT) and sensor integration
  • Ability to manage and query databases using SQL/NoSQL
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools like Spotfire, Tableau, or PowerBI

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in high-precision electronics or HDD/HGA industry
  • Familiarity with Robotics (ROS 2) and Computer Vision
  • Experience with AI-driven predictive maintenance
  • Proactive approach to Kaizen and continuous improvement
