Senior Engineer - Linux Kernel Development

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional teams to develop and support various features in the Linux kernel to support Android on Qualcomm Snapdragon Chipsets
• Work on latest bleeding-edge ARMv9 CPUs and features
• Collaborate closely with power and performance teams to analyze, identify, and implement optimizations for performance bottlenecks
• Enable and support other teams that utilize supported Linux kernel features
• Identify and support a core set of tools to assist in Linux Kernel development, debugging, and support

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• 2+ years of software engineering experience (or 1+ year with a Master's degree)
• Proficiency in C or C++
• Excellent knowledge of OS fundamentals, data structures, Linux kernel, and the device driver model
• Experience with debugging tools such as T32, gdb, or crash analysis utilities
• Proficiency with development tools including toolchains and version control

Preferred Qualifications

• Specific expertise in kernel subsystems such as core kernel, device drivers, memory, SMMU, or ARM subsystems
• Experience using tracing tools to identify and solve performance bottlenecks
• Background experience in Android development
