Senior Engineer II-Validation

Responsibilities

• Drive validation scoping by reviewing architecture specifications, datasheets, and verification plans to identify risks and coverage gaps
• Lead the development and execution of validation strategies and test plans for high-speed connectivity products
• Perform lab-based validation, including design bring-up, characterization, and interoperability testing for devices exceeding 25Gbps
• Provide hands-on hardware support, including PCB bring-up, system-level debug, and troubleshooting power, clocking, and signal integrity issues
• Manage JIRA-based debug workflows, including logging, triaging, and leading cross-functional root cause discussions
• Collaborate with Design, Verification, Applications, and Product Marketing teams to ensure production-ready silicon
• Mentor junior validation engineers and contribute to continuous process improvement

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• 7.5+ years of experience in validation, test, or system-level debug of complex ICs or connectivity products
• Hands-on experience with PCB bring-up and debugging
• Proficiency with electronics lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers
• Strong understanding of power delivery, clocking, reset sequencing, and signal integrity fundamentals
• Experience using JIRA or similar issue tracking systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical reviews and cross-functional collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of high-speed connectivity protocols such as Ethernet, USB (2.0/3.x), and PCI Express
• Experience with Python-based automation for validation, data analysis, or lab equipment control
• Experience reviewing schematics and layouts for silicon validation or reference boards
• Exposure to IC device characterization and silicon performance analysis
