Senior Engineer II, Field Service

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, qualification, startup, and decommissioning of semiconductor capital equipment
• Execute preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, upgrades, and repairs
• Troubleshoot complex electrical, electronic, mechanical, software, vacuum, and gas delivery systems
• Conduct advanced diagnostic procedures to isolate equipment issues
• Implement engineering changes and field modifications via ECOs
• Collaborate with technical support and engineering teams to resolve performance issues
• Maintain detailed service documentation and maintenance records
• Serve as a technical resource and mentor to less experienced engineers
• Travel domestically and internationally (25–75%) to support customer operations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or a related technical discipline
• Minimum 5 years of field service or semiconductor manufacturing experience
• Strong troubleshooting skills with microprocessor-controlled electromechanical systems
• Ability to read electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and system schematics
• Experience with oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, and diagnostic tools
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• English language proficiency
• Ability to work in semiconductor cleanroom environments
• Willingness to travel 25–75%

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in wafer fabrication environments
• Advanced knowledge of vacuum systems and closed-loop gas control
• Experience with RF-induced plasma technologies
• Familiarity with robotics and motion control systems
• Experience handling toxic or flammable gases in semiconductor environments
• Proficiency in root-cause analysis techniques
