Senior Engineer II, Field Service

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, qualification, preventative maintenance, and remedial repair on complex semiconductor capital equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, and software-related equipment issues
• Provide professional technical support to customers to ensure high satisfaction
• Interpret electronic and electro-mechanical schematics and technical documentation
• Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and process improvements
• Document service activities and technical findings accurately
• Collaborate with engineering and customer teams to resolve complex issues
• Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a safety-first mindset
• Travel domestically and internationally (25–75%) for customer support

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or related technical discipline
• 5+ years of field service or semiconductor manufacturing experience with complex capital equipment
• Strong troubleshooting skills with microprocessor-controlled electro-mechanical systems
• Ability to read electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical schematics
• Experience with preventative maintenance, installations, and system diagnostics
• Working knowledge of oscilloscopes and digital voltmeters (DVMs)
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in wafer fabrication environments
• Knowledge of vacuum systems and closed-loop gas control systems
• Experience with RF-induced plasma technologies
• Familiarity with robotics and motion control systems
• Experience handling toxic or flammable gases in semiconductor environments
• Knowledge of root-cause analysis techniques
• Ability to mentor less experienced engineers and technicians
