Senior Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, design, and manage capital improvement and master plan projects.
• Write Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and prepare cost estimates and contract documents for the Capital Improvement Program.
• Coordinate engineering design work and construction activities, overseeing inspections to ensure projects are technically sound and on schedule.
• Manage and coordinate projects with other city departments, divisions, engineers, and architects.
• Work with city, state, and private engineering firms, contractors, and crews to verify quality work and ensure construction time frames are met.
• Maintain broad knowledge of engineering theory and practice across all phases of civil engineering and surveying.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 8 years of experience in the design and/or construction of capital improvement projects.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in the State of Ohio (or ability to obtain via reciprocity).
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Class III Certification as a Wastewater Works Operator or Water Supply Operator (within the Water Department).
