Senior Engineer II-Applications (Software/Firmware)

Responsibilities

• Provide technical customer support for SAS/SATA/NVMe protocols, RAID controller firmware, OS drivers, and management software
• Support PCIe, security, and encryption technologies
• Partner with Tier 1 OEMs and ODMs to define requirements, assist in design wins, and support system bring-up to full production
• Root cause and document complex customer issues by leading cross-functional teams
• Develop and review technical documentation including user guides, release notes, and application notes
• Provide technical training to end customers, field application engineers (FAEs), and sales teams
• Travel within North America and internationally to customer sites for firmware and software debugging

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
• 7.5+ years of directly related experience in software or firmware applications
• Strong understanding of PCIe/CXL, NVMe, SAS/SATA, and SCSI technologies
• Experience with board-level debug and bench top equipment such as protocol analyzers and logic analyzers
• Proven customer-facing experience with strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across multiple geographical locations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with RISC, MIPS, or ARM-based embedded processors
• Experience with storage accelerators and server/storage firmware
• Knowledge of server BIOS functionality and device drivers
• Proficiency in C, C++, and TCL/TK or other scripting languages
• Experience with high-speed debug equipment like oscilloscopes, DCAJ, and BERT
• Familiarity with AI/ML, deep learning, and natural language processing
