About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for the development of electronic systems for next-generation atomic clocks
- Liaise with software and mechanical design teams to ensure robust and producible product designs
- Guide and mentor electrical engineers on best practices for new product development and sustaining engineering
- Develop and execute test and qualification plans for engineering prototypes
- Design and capture schematics using CAD suites and collaborate with layout designers
- Manage electrical designs in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, including creating bills of material and engineering change orders
- Provide troubleshooting support to production for new and existing products
Requirements
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering
- 5-7.5 years of relevant experience in hardware design
- Deep understanding of analog designs, including active filters and control loops
- Strong knowledge of mixed-signal circuits and data converters
- Knowledge of digital interface physical layers such as USB, SPI, and I2C
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and product specifications
- US citizenship or permanent residency required due to export control laws
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with component selection for space applications with radiation requirements
- Proficiency in Programmable Logic (FPGA/CPLD) and HDL (VHDL/Verilog) design
- Knowledge of RF and microwave synthesis
- Experience with crystal oscillator design
- Familiarity with Agile PLM tools
