Senior Engineer I, Firmware

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the device drivers and boot software team for the PolarFire SoC FPGA family and other FPGA families
• Enhance and support Linux device drivers and applications to demonstrate usage
• Triage complex issues to narrow down problem areas and resolve customer issues
• Perform software testing, including test specification, implementation, and automation
• Collaborate with global teams across timezones to resolve cross-functional issues
• Participate in documentation and code reviews to contribute to the overall ecosystem

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electrical/Electronics Engineering
• 5 to 8 years of experience in embedded Linux or bare metal software development
• Strong C programming skills and product development experience
• Familiarity with Assembly instructions
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, PERL, or Linux shells
• Strong debugging skills and a systematic approach to problem-solving
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and standard documents

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with safety-critical systems and software standards such as ASPICE
• Familiarity with benchmarking software like CoreMark or FPMark
• Proven experience working with multiple teams to resolve complex cross-functional issues
