Senior Engineer - Fire and Life Safety

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical consultant on fire safety, prevention, and life safety engineering for internal and external clients.
• Perform advanced reviews of plans and specifications for fire suppression, automatic sprinkler systems, and life safety analysis.
• Develop fire safety plans including evacuation, wayfinding, firefighting equipment, and escape widths.
• Design standpipe systems, automatic sprinkler systems, hydrant systems, and fire water reticulation systems.
• Advise architects, builders, and construction personnel on fire code interpretation and compliance.
• Prepare rational fire designs, tender documents, specifications, and technical reports.
• Conduct site inspections and construction monitoring to ensure statutory compliance of fire protection systems.
• Manage project financials, including fee proposals, invoicing, and cost reports.

Requirements

• Mechanical or Civil Engineering degree from an accredited university, or a Fire Technology degree.
• 8-12 years of experience in Fire Engineering and consulting engineering.
• Deep knowledge of British Standards, Euro Code, and NFPA.
• Proficiency in international codes such as BS 9999, NFPA 101, BS 7974, and IFEG.
