Senior Engineer, Fiberglass Design

Responsibilities

• Lead new product designs for fiberglass and composite products, managing the full development cycle from research to manufacturing support.
• Conduct research on alternative composite materials, resins, fabrics, and processing methods to optimize performance.
• Utilize advanced composite analysis techniques and modeling to develop innovative product solutions.
• Design molds to efficiently process raw composite materials to meet material, design, and manufacturing requirements.
• Perform detailed structural analysis of composite and metallic components to verify product performance.
• Identify and execute cost-savings projects from inception to completion.
• Coordinate all development phases, including prototyping, testing, and analysis.
• Evaluate field and production issues and recommend necessary improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Composite Engineering, or Material Science (or an associate's degree with equivalent design experience).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Design Engineering, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in composite design and manufacturing techniques (e.g., Resin Transfer Molding, Compression Molding, Injection Molding, or SMC).
• Proficiency in 3D CAD with solid modeling and data management software.
• Strong attention to detail regarding document control, ECN releases, and BOM creation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NX, ANSYS, Siemens Teamcenter, or Oracle.
• Background in Engineering Change Notice (ECN) processes and Product Development Processes (PDP).
• Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO-9001, NFPA, UL, or ASTM.
