Senior Engineer, Equipment Engineering

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of tool hardware design, equipment reconfiguration, and installation tasks.
• Drive technical negotiations with vendors, manage documentation, and coordinate manpower resources.
• Design, specify, and maintain media sputter deposition equipment to support new product development.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for equipment-related downtime.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair down-tool situations to ensure efficient operation.
• Develop and provide detailed technical documentation, work instructions, and training for technicians and maintenance teams.
• Monitor equipment reliability, throughput, and process capability in collaboration with Process and Manufacturing Engineering.

Requirements

• B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related Engineering or physical science field.
• 3+ years of experience in media deposition or semiconductor manufacturing equipment design, operations, or installation.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD design software and geometric tolerance.
• Strong project management, troubleshooting, and technical writing skills.
• Ability to work effectively with technicians and transfer technical knowledge clearly.
• Ability to travel to offshore locations to support job functions.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical tooling, machine design, or automation design.
• Knowledge of high-vacuum technology and plasma physics.
• Competence in developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
