Senior Engineer - Data Engineering

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines and a growing data lake
• Build and extend data processing workflows using Python, Apache Spark, and Databricks
• Define technical standards, best practices, and reusable frameworks for data engineering
• Ensure data quality, reliability, performance, and maintainability across all data solutions
• Support data modeling, integration, and transformation processes for analytics and reporting
• Drive automation, monitoring, and CI/CD improvements to ensure operational excellence
• Collaborate across teams as a technical interface between the data platform and business stakeholders
• Contribute to architecture decisions and long-term data platform strategy

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
• 3 years of professional project or coding experience
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and Databricks
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or comparable cloud providers
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI) and Git
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures or streaming platforms like Kafka

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of medallion architecture and data lakehouse principles
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and deployment
• Knowledge of structured and semi-structured data formats such as JSON, Protobuf, or Delta format
• Experience with Change Data Capture (CDC) and distributed systems
