About the role
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and operation of high availability and geo-redundant WiFi platforms and services
- Design, deploy, and maintain complex L2/L3 networking and WiFi architectures in large-scale environments
- Engineer and support F5 BIG-IP technologies (LTM, DNS/GTM, WAF) to enable reliable traffic management and security
- Support the engineering and operations of a nationwide hotspot network serving millions of customer sessions
- Implement platform security best practices, including service hardening, mTLS/PKI usage, and secure API integrations
- Participate in observability efforts, including metrics, logging, alerting, and troubleshooting
- Perform performance analysis, capacity planning, and failure testing in partnership with operations teams
- Mentor junior engineers and support the development of team technical skills and best practices
Requirements
- 7–10 years of experience in IP networking, WiFi, or distributed systems engineering
- Strong working knowledge of IP networking technologies (IPv4/IPv6, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, NAT)
- Hands-on experience supporting F5 BIG-IP solutions (LTM, DNS/GTM, WAF) in production environments
- Solid understanding of WiFi technologies including 802.11 standards, WPA2/WPA3, Passpoint/Hotspot 2.0, roaming, RADIUS, and EAP
- Experience designing, deploying, or operating highly available and secure networked systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in containerized or cloud-native environments (Kubernetes, service mesh, etc.)
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code and automation tools (Terraform, CI/CD pipelines)
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry
- Exposure to performance engineering concepts such as load testing and capacity planning
