About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead Safety Strategy Meetings and maintain vehicle-level safety targets (USNCAP, IIHS, Local Safety Health Chart)
- Conduct competitive benchmarking for performance, design, and efficiency
- Own and drive signoff planning, including CDP, crash families, and worst-case variants
- Drive efficient vehicle, sled, and CAE signoff plans
- Secure cross-functional team alignment and manage risks and opportunities
- Own and track vehicle, sled, and component test plans mapped to program timing
- Support prototype planning workstreams and track test issues to closure
Requirements
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical field
- 8-10 years of experience in vehicle safety systems, body structures, and occupant protection
- Strong understanding of vehicle safety principles, regulations, and standards
- Expertise in vehicle safety using a 1st Principles approach
- Familiarity with Computer Aided Engineering (CAE)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
