Senior Energy Analytics Analyst

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance analytical solutions supporting wholesale power, retail energy, risk management, and supply optimization
• Build and maintain load, price growth margin forecasting, and market intelligence models for ERCOT and PJM markets
• Support trading, risk, and supply management teams through scenario analysis and exposure reporting
• Design and develop scalable data pipelines and analytics tools using SQL and Python
• Leverage Generative AI, LLMs, and machine learning to automate workflows and enhance forecasting
• Create dashboards and visualizations to enable informed business decisions
• Lead analytics projects from requirements gathering through deployment and support

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or a quantitative hard science
• 5+ years of industry experience applying modeling techniques in business applications
• Strong understanding of ERCOT market structure and fundamentals
• Hands-on experience in load forecasting, price forecasting, and risk management
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience with visualization tools like Plotly or PowerBI
• Ability to work onsite in Houston, TX
• Eligibility to work in the USA without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in Engineering, Math, Physics, or related field
• Technical knowledge of time series modeling (GBM, LSTM) and deep learning/generative AI
• Experience with ETRM systems such as Dayzer, Yes Energy, or Hitachi/Endur
• Knowledge of renewable generation, battery storage, and natural gas markets
• Experience developing AI-enabled analytics solutions or workflow automation tools
