Responsibilities
- Manage compliance programs for state and federal employment laws including meal periods, payroll, and harassment
- Develop HR policies regarding accommodations, leaves of absence, and onboarding
- Conduct regular audits of compliance programs and implement corrective actions
- Provide legal counsel on employment separation, job classifications, and recruiting
- Draft and deliver legal training to people leaders
- Manage OFCCP compliance reports and filings
- Advise on benefits law and review benefit contracts
- Monitor labor and employment law developments
- Own the drafting and updating of the Employee Handbook
Requirements
- JD from an ABA accredited school
- 10+ years of employment law experience
- Admitted to the bar in good standing in at least one U.S. State
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
- Must meet U.S. ITAR requirements (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with California employment law
- Experience with AAP preparation or OFCCP compliance evaluations
- Experience counseling clients with significant domestic manufacturing or international operations
- Experience with a major law firm or corporation
