Senior Employment Compliance Specialist

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior-level consultant and advisor to HR Business Partners and leaders on complex employee relations and compliance matters
• Lead and oversee comprehensive workplace investigations regarding misconduct, discrimination, harassment, and policy violations
• Provide strategic recommendations for corrective actions, performance management, and workforce reduction strategies
• Advise leadership on wage and hour compliance under FLSA and relevant state laws
• Act as a subject-matter expert on ADA compliance, including the interactive process and reasonable accommodations
• Partner with in-house counsel to assess complex employment matters and support legal documentation
• Identify systemic trends and advise on policy improvements and proactive risk mitigation
• Develop and deliver training programs on employment compliance and best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Legal, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee relations, investigations, or employment compliance
• Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, and ADA
• Proven experience handling high-risk workplace investigations and providing strategic consultation
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for drafting investigative findings
• Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and integrity

Preferred Qualifications

• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
• Experience designing and delivering training to internal and external audiences
• Proficiency with HRIS platforms and case management systems
