About the role

About the Company

Humanoid is on a mission to build the world’s most capable, commercially-scalable, and safe humanoid robots. Their HMND‑01 Alpha platform is already running in real industrial pilots.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement embedded software for robotic systems with an emphasis on real-time performance
  • Integrate and optimize hardware and software components including sensors, actuators, and communication modules
  • Write and debug firmware for microcontrollers, FPGAs, and SoCs
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers for system integration
  • Implement and manage communication protocols such as EtherCAT, CAN, UART, SPI, and I2C
  • Perform hardware testing, validation, and troubleshooting
  • Analyze system constraints to optimize performance and resource utilization
  • Maintain detailed documentation of designs, code, and test results

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
  • Proficiency in C, C++, and Python
  • Solid understanding of embedded systems, RTOS, and hardware-software interfaces
  • Experience with communication protocols (EtherCAT, CAN, etc.) and sensor integration
  • Familiarity with debugging tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit debuggers
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with robotics frameworks such as ROS/ROS2
  • Hands-on experience with FPGA/SoC development
  • Knowledge of safety-critical systems and standards
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies
  • Familiarity with off-the-shelf EtherCAT-based motor drivers
