About the role
About the Company
Humanoid is on a mission to build the world’s most capable, commercially-scalable, and safe humanoid robots. Their HMND‑01 Alpha platform is already running in real industrial pilots.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement embedded software for robotic systems with an emphasis on real-time performance
- Integrate and optimize hardware and software components including sensors, actuators, and communication modules
- Write and debug firmware for microcontrollers, FPGAs, and SoCs
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers for system integration
- Implement and manage communication protocols such as EtherCAT, CAN, UART, SPI, and I2C
- Perform hardware testing, validation, and troubleshooting
- Analyze system constraints to optimize performance and resource utilization
- Maintain detailed documentation of designs, code, and test results
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
- Proficiency in C, C++, and Python
- Solid understanding of embedded systems, RTOS, and hardware-software interfaces
- Experience with communication protocols (EtherCAT, CAN, etc.) and sensor integration
- Familiarity with debugging tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit debuggers
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with robotics frameworks such as ROS/ROS2
- Hands-on experience with FPGA/SoC development
- Knowledge of safety-critical systems and standards
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies
- Familiarity with off-the-shelf EtherCAT-based motor drivers
