About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of development within an embedded systems environment, from requirements definition to system architecture and testing.
- Provide system architecture definition and conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes.
- Design, develop, and test new embedded software while supporting and enhancing existing hardware and software.
- Perform architecture, design, and code reviews, and validate software releases.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses.
- Provide mentoring for junior staff and assist in maintaining a productive team atmosphere.
- Generate complete and accurate user and design documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Must be a US person.
- Strong knowledge of processor systems (Intel, ARM, PIC, Atmel, NXP).
- Proficiency in hardware interfaces and buses (Ethernet, PCIe, PCI, Fibre Channel, I2C, SPI, USB).
- Experience with C programming and Linux OS distributions (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Strong debugging, integration, and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with boot loader technology such as BIOS and UBoot.
- Proficiency with software configuration management tools (git, svn, cvs) and defect tracking tools (JIRA).
- Experience with FPGA development using Verilog or VHDL.
- Hardware design experience using Altium.
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity and NIAP Common Criteria.
- Experience using diagnostic tools like Digital Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and DVMs.
