About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain production-quality embedded firmware for microcontroller and SoC-based instrumentation systems.
  • Work on data acquisition and signal generation systems utilizing high-speed ADCs and DACs.
  • Own low-level software components including boot code, device drivers, RTOS integration, and bare-metal firmware.
  • Debug and root-cause system-level issues involving hardware-software interaction.
  • Optimize firmware for performance, memory, power, and real-time constraints.
  • Collaborate with hardware, applications, and systems teams for board bring-up and validation.
  • Use Generative AI tools to improve productivity in code generation, refactoring, and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in embedded software development.
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
  • Hands-on experience with ROS and RTOS such as Zephyr or Embedded Linux.
  • Experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers or FPGA-based SoCs.
  • Solid understanding of SPI, I2C, and UART protocols.
  • Ability to read and understand board-level schematics and hardware documentation.
  • Strong debugging skills and experience with root cause analysis across drivers and SDKs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Xilinx-based FPGA SoC platforms (Zynq).
  • Experience with high-speed data acquisition systems.
  • Understanding of DMA-based data transfers.
  • Background in test and measurement or instrumentation products.
